<p>The system is similar in operation to the paging system described in application NL9100507. The main difference is that the present system transmits data for display on an integral read-out, rather than giving an alerting signal. Another difference is that the portable units are returned to and dispensed from a charger (19') which is also used to program identification codes. Returned units (7) are placed (76) in the charging unit and recharged via a panel (73) at the rear of the charger. When a unit (7) is to be dispensed, the operator keys in the relevant code, with the help of a keyboard (82) and display (81). The programmed unit is then removed (79) and handed to the user.</p> |
