LIFE DETERMINATION DEVICE OF ENCLOSED TYPE LEAD-ACID BATTERY

PURPOSE:To determine the life of a battery according to a change in color by providing a substance whose color changes according to a temperature change on the surface of the battery jar of an elclosed type lead-acid battery. CONSTITUTION:A thermo-label 5 containing a discoloring temperature 3 and a heat sensitive element 4 is sticked to the surface of the battery jar 2 of an enclosed type lead-acid battery 1. This label 5 makes the color of the element 4 change when temperature becomes higher than discoloring temperature 3. The element 4 is perfectly enclosed with heat resistant film; for example, the color of the element 4 changes from white to red at 50 deg.C or higher, and the element 4 is made up of a completely irreversible warm material whose color after change never returns to its original color after change in color. It is thereby possible to make unnecessary an impedance measuring device for carrying out an impedance life determination method and to simply determine the life of the enclosed type lead-acid battery.
