PURPOSE:To prevent a metal coating from swelling and the critical current density from becoming uneven in the longitudinal direction in an oxide superconductive wire manufacturing method involving the process of heating metal-coated raw material powder of the oxide superconductive wire to sinter them. CONSTITUTION:A metal billet 1 is filled with raw material powder 5 of an oxide superconductor, then degassing of the metal billet is carried out, and hydrostatic extrusion is applied, after the degassed billet is sealed, so as to lengthen it.
