PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a folding device, to eliminate a work at an elevated place, and to improve folding precision by applying different folding on a printed running sheet by means of a second folding unit after the passage of it through the nipping roller of a first folding unit. CONSTITUTION:A running sheet 200 running from a printing unit is divided in the direction of width into two sections by a slitter 41. The one division sheet 200 is folded in the direction of width through a drag roller 5 by a former 6. The folded sheet 200 is pulled out by a nipping roller 7. The sheet is discharged as a eight-page folded sheet onto a delivery table 14 by a first folding unit. Meanwhile, the other division sheet of two division sheets into which the sheet is divided by the slitter 41 is pulled out through a turn bar 4 and a guide roll 15 by nipper rollers 16 and 7. The running direction of the other division sheet is changed over by guide rollers 43, 44, and 45 and the sheet is delivered in a second folding unit 52. In the folding unit 52, the sheet is cut and folded two times by folding drum groups 26-28 and is discharged as a 32-page folded sheet to a delivery table 30. |
