PURPOSE:To extremely readily and remarkably improve the critical current density of superconducting ceramics. CONSTITUTION:In a method for producing superconducting ceramics by thermally melting a raw material composition (including calcined powder) and then cooling and solidifying the resultant melt, a gas is introduced into the raw material composition, e.g. Y2O3, BaCO3 or Cu0 in melting thereof and stirring is simultaneously carried out to form holes finely and homogeneously dispersed in the superconducting phase. Since the finely and homogeneously dispersed holes provide pinning points for a flux, the high critical current density is obtained. |
