PURPOSE: To provide a system for detecting and signaling the feeding of a complete set, a stack or job of document sheets for a copier or other document image forming system provided with a document restacking tray. CONSTITUTION: The end of set detection and a control signal are prepared by a non-mechanical optical non-sheet-present-in-tray detector 9 for those document sets having a sufficiently small number of document sheets such that all of the document sheets are temporarily in the document recirculation path after the last sheet of the set is fed out of a document tray 16 on each circulation. Thus, the optical sheet presence detector 9 briefly signals that no document sheets exist in the tray 16, indicating the finishing of feeding the last sheet of the small set. |
