<p>PURPOSE:In a mechanism which is provided in the exhaust passage of a diesel engine, and jets air toward a particulate filter to catch a particulate matter in an exhaust for tearing off the particulate matter, and burns it for its removal, and thereby regenerate the particulate filter, to carry out the tearing off of the particulate matter on not only a spot where the air strikes against but also the whole face of the filter uniformly. CONSTITUTION:Air jetted toward the downstream side of an exhaust through a nozzle 9 is returned into a conical chamber 7 by a returning plate 15, and passes through the chamber 7 toward a particulate filter 17 on the upstream side of the exhaust in a state where the air is decelerated for heightening its static pressure. The particulate matter can be uniformly teared off by utilizing the air under its static pressure instead of dynamic pressure.</p> |
