The present invention relates to a spark shield device protecting against sparks coming out of a combustion engine, mounted on vehicles used in agriculture or in a forestry environment when the spread of sparks risks propagating fires. This device is mounted vertically on the exhaust pipe by means of a connecting fitting 2 including a venturi 4 and a helical deflector 5 emerging in the centre of an expansion chamber 3 of cylindrical shape ending in a hemispherical cap. The said expansion chamber 3, made up of metallic meshwork is fixed to a circular plate 7 joined to the connection fitting 2. <IMAGE>
