<p>PURPOSE:To readily abolish slag by preventing dusting of slag occurring in refining of pig iron steel. CONSTITUTION:A slag hardening agent comprising feldspar-based, rhyolite-based or serpentine-based particles having a composition of 60-80% SiO2 and 5-20% Al2O3 and <=5mm particle diameter is added to basic slag during melting thereof and stirred. By adding the feldspar-based, rhyolite-based or serpentine-based particles having high ratio of SiO2 component as the hardening agent, the component ratio of CaO and SiO2 in the slag is greatly changed from that before the addition, consequently, formation of dicalcium silicate is reduced to prevent dusting. Since the slag hardening agent exists in a large amount in nature and is obtained stably and at a low cost, the agent has merits of inexpensive treatment cost and is simply treated and operated only by adding and stirring during melting of slag.</p> |
