<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a picture with sharp edge by digital-enhancing edge data comprising the picture edge part of input picture data and converting it into an analog signal. CONSTITUTION:An inverse orthogonal transformation encoding processing means 1 outputs picture data of coefficients corresponding to individual NXN picture element block encoded by the orthogonal transformation encoding after converted into block data(BD) of the NXN picture element through decoding. An edge detection means 2 detects the edge of the picture by detecting each picture element value for the BD, and outputs the values of each picture element as edge data(ED). An inflection point detection means 3 obtains differential data in the vertical and horizontal directions from the ED, calculating inflection point data(HVD) to be outputted. The HVD is compared with the pattern of a storage means 5, and the most approximate pattern table (TX) is outputted. An enhance processing means 6 enhances up-and-down and right-and-left data of the TX, and converts this to an analog signal.</p> |
