<p>An ostomy appliance (10) is disclosed for selectively sealing a stoma. The appliance (10) includes a central elongated relatively rigid tube (12) having inner and outer end portions. A cap (14) is supported to the outer end portion of the tube (12) and is adapted to engage the user's skin when the tube (12) is inserted in a stoma. A flexible extendable and collapsible bellows (26) is mounted on the inner end of the tube (12) for sealing the inside of the stoma when the appliance is inserted therein. A flexible rod (60) insertable through the cap (14) and tube (12) for engagement with the bellows (26) extends the bellows (26) to collapse it for insertion in the stoma.</p> |
