The front axle suspension system for a motor vehicle is mounted on a transverse beam (1) which supports one end of a longitudinal girder (3) on each side of the vehicle. The longitudinal girder (3) supports a swing arm (4) to which a road wheel is attached. The transverse beam has a row of four holes (7-10) at each end. The longitudinal girder has two fixing holes (19,20) in each end section, which can be aligned with either pair of transverse beams holes (7,9; 8,10). The longitudinal girder can thus be mounted in either of two positions.
