The externally driven machine cannon (1) has a continuously rotating control roller (2) ahich actuates the sliding breech block (3) and at the same time actuates the mechanism (5) which guides the shells (6) into the breech and ejects the empty cartridge cases (7) forwards through a duct (35). The mechanism consists of a slider which operates inside a rotor (9) and is coaxial with it. The rotor has pockets to receive the cartridges and transfer them to the breech block. The pockets are engageable by the slider followers (10) for empty cartridge case ejection.
