The adjusting shaft (5) drive consists of a piston in the form of a rolling membrane (10) mounted in a pressure-chamber (11) whose pressure causes it to move. A gear connects the piston to the adjusting-shaft and is formed by a lifting-thread (15) on the adjusting-shaft or on a component (14) fixed to the adjusting-shaft, and by a nut (18) fitting into the lifting thread and joined to the piston. The component's outer casing has several evenly spaced-out thread-pitches into which the nut fits. The piston has radially inward-pointing protuberances (16, 17) gripping into the thread pitches and pre-stressed radially by a compression spring (19, 20). ADVANTAGE - The adjusting shaft drive is compact and operates reliably and has a gear converting the piston's lifting movement into the adjusting shaft's rotary movement.
