The arrangement has a source which directs radiation towards a region (3) of the surface of a measurement body or conductor (1) so that low energy charge carriers (5), or secondary electrons, emanate from the body with a speed component perpendicular to the magnetic field (4). A detector arrangement monitors the directional distribution of the charge carriers emanating from the conductor. An evaluation unit determines the magnetic field, or the current which generates the magnetic field, from the detector arrangement's output signal.
