PRODUCTION OF N-ARYLMALEIMIDE

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a process for producing N-arylmaleimide from N- arylmaleinamic acid via N-arylmaleinamic acid ester and obtaining crude crystal of N-arylmaleimide having relatively high purity in high yield. CONSTITUTION:N-arylmaleinamic acid is made to react with an alcohol in the presence of a sulfonic acid catalyst and the obtained N-arylmaleinamic acid ester is imidated in the presence of a sulfonic acid catalyst and a phosphoric acid catalyst. Crude crystal of N-arylmaleimide having relatively high purity can be precipitated from the obtained reaction mixture.
