PURPOSE:To offer the liquid crystal display device, which is thin and light in weight, having a black-and-white mode and a color mode with high permeability by simplified processes. CONSTITUTION:An orienting film 13a is formed to orient transparent electrodes 12a and 12b and liquid crystal 18 respectively inside a pair of transparent bases 11a and 11b and between them, either a liquid crystal panel 10 clamping the liquid crystal 18 or the orienting film of the liquid crystal panel 10 at the liquid crystal display device equipped with a pair of polarization panels on the side not forming the transparent electrodes 12a and 12b of the liquid crystal panel 10 has birefringence. |
