MOLDING METHOD FOR BAND LAYER

PURPOSE:To conveniently form a U-shaped band layer constituted by spirally winding a band cord and wrapping a belt end therein and to enhance the high speed durability and productivity of a tire. CONSTITUTION:A strip-shaped band cord body 18 wherein several org. fiber cords 7 are mutually arranged under tension is preliminarily formed and spirally wound round the outer peripheral surface of a drum 20 continuously so that one end part thereof is positioned inside the axial direction of a tire to form the lower piece 15 of a band layer 8 (first step). A sheet like belt piece 12 is wound round the outer surface of the lower piece 15 to form belt plies 7i, 7o (second step). The other end part of the band cord body 18 is continuously spirally wound inside the axial direction of the tire to form the lower piece 15 of the band layer 8 (third step).
