PURPOSE: To provide a carboxamide derivative exhibiting high herbicidal activity before and after germination of weed.£Phenoxypicolinic acid derivative, 2-halo-6-pyridinecarboxamide derivative, alkali metal phenolate, broad-leaved weed. CONSTITUTION: This compound is expressed by the formula [(n) is 1-5; X is H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy, CN, NO2 , an alkenyloxy, an alkylthio, etc.; (m) is 0-3; Y is a halogen, an alkyl or a haloalkyl; Z is O or S; R<1> and R<2> are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkenyl, an alkynyl, a cycloalkyl, OH, an alkoxy, an alkoxycarbonyl, NH2 , a mono- or di-alkylamino, etc., or together form an alkylene chain arbitrarily interrupted with O, S or NR (R is H or an alkyl)], e.g. N-n-propyl-2-(3-α,α,α-trifluoromethylphenoxy)-6- pyridinecarboxamide. The compound can be produced by reacting a compound of the formula II (L is an eliminable group) with an amine of the formula NHR<1> R<2> or reacting a compound of the formula III (Hal is a halogen) with a compound of the formula IV (M is an alkali metal).
