The monitor carrying arm has a base plate with an arm mounted on the base plate to pivot about a horiontal axis for height adjustment. A carrying part mounted on the end of the arm is pivotable about a second horizontal axis (22). The carrying part is a pivotable bearing cup (20) and a holder (40). The bearing cup has an upwardly concave bearing surface (38) with the shape of a segment of the outer surface of a cylinder axis-parallel to the second rotation axis. The holder sits in the cup with a downwardly convex surface (42). The cup is coupled to the base plate (10) via at least one parallel pair of coupling rods (30, 32).
