This is printed on the back with coloured rubber to secure it in place; and on the front with microencapsulated working material, on which there can be an ornamental pattern if desired. Impregnated material can be used on the front, typically bactericidal. ADVANTAGE - Provides insulation and heat, absorbs moisture, and is bio-degradable.
