A method for humidifying gas (hydrogen gas) to blacken CRT cathode sleeves comprises (A) separating the dry gas stream into two stream lines, where one stream (14') is passing through a control valve (19") and the other is passing into pure water of a humidifier (12) to generate a first humidified gas (17) and (B) introducing the dry gas (14') and the first humidified gas (17) to an automatic control valve (18) to give a second himidified gas. The above method can provide highly stabilized and high quality blackening process.
