PURPOSE:To decide the identity with all color pictures as the object by using a threshold corresponding to the change of the color distribution to divide pictures into areas in the stage of feature extraction based on area division using chrominance components and using the similarity of triangles to calculate the similarity of picture structures. CONSTITUTION:A triangle similarity detecting part 109 applies an area extracting part 104, a geometrical feature quantity calculating part 105, and a chrominance component feature quantity calculating part 106 to a first picture to obtain plural first area groups and applies them to a second picture to obtain second area groups and uses an area resemblance degree calculating part 107 to allow these areas to correspond to each other. With respect to two triangle groups which are obtained by applying a picture structure describing part 108 to respective area groups and consist of one or plural triangles, similarity relations between triangles having center of gravity positions of corresponding areas as apexes are detected to calculate the degree of similarity. |
