摘要 In a variable flow liq. evapn. process, in which the liq. is heated by contact with heat exchange surfaces extending in the liq. flow direction within a heat exchanger housing, the novelty is that the liq. flows downwardly through the housing and exits at the lowest point of the housing. The vapour pressure can be regulated by varying the outlet cross-section of the heat exchanger housing, e.g. to achieve elevated pressure for transport of a fuel vapour/oxidant mixt.. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is used e.g. to evaporate a fuel prior to mixing with an oxidant. Compared with upward flow evapn. processes, liq flow regulation at the inlet side of the heat exchanger has a delay-free effect at the outlet side even when the supplied liq. is not completely evapd..
