A piston-type dosing element, for manual or motor operated single or multiple channel dosing equipment for precise volumetric metering of liqs. and gases, has one or more hollow cylindrical pistons which are axially displaceable and sealed w.r.t. a receptacle and which have one or more sealed and axially displaceable pistons in their bores. The element pref. has an outer hollow piston which slides in a housing and which has a central piston in its bore, the two pistons being axially displaceable relative to each other and w.r.t. the housing individually or together. Displacement may be effected manually or by an electric motor, hydraulic or magnetic drive. USE/ADVANTAGE - Useful as a repetitive dispensing or diluting pipette or as a hand pipette for liqs. It allows high precision dosing of a wide range of liq. volumes.
