This method and machine are used for tire recovery. It ensures high productivity of the process and a high output in tire recovery. The method entails fixating the position and form of the tire, its tuning to revolution, and cutting the protector along the entire profile that is subject to treatment at least two places along the perimeter of the tire. The tire makes less than one revolution. The cutting elements represent a pair of profile pull-broaches, displaced during the cutting process along a tangent to the tire perimeter, while this displacement is synchronized with the revolution of the tire, or are made as two round profile pull-broaches, incising into the tire and synchronously rotating with it. The machine consists of a tire fastening, pumping and revolution mechanism, no less than two cutting elements for cutting the protector and a means for its management. The cutting surfaces of the cutting elements represent profiled elements on the format of a treated tire.
