METHOD FOR TREATING DOG AFFECTED BY DERMATOSIS AND MEDICINE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To treat dermatosis of a dog by administering a prescribed amount of gamma-linolenic acid to the dog affected by dermatosis in a form of pellet, flake capsule or coating agent, etc. CONSTITUTION:gamma-Linolenic acid-containing substrate (especially preferably either one of free gamma-linolenic acid, gamma-linolenic acid-containing oil and fat and alkyl ester or acid amide of gamma-linolenic acid) is administered to a dog affected by dermatosis such as seborrhea syndrome, parasitic dermatosis or allergic dermatitis at a ratio of >=0.3g daily to treat the dermatosis of the dog. The above- mentioned drug is preferably used as a gamma-linolenic acid-containing coating medicine for dog affected by dermatosis.
