PRODUCTION OF ALKALI METALLIC CIS-EPOXYSUCCINATE

摘要

PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of an epoxidation catalyst used to 0.02-0.15mol% based on maleic acid in producing an alkali metallic cis-epoxysuccinate from maleic acid or maleic anhydride and aqueous hydrogen peroxide. CONSTITUTION:Maleic acid or maleic anhydride and aqueous hydrogen peroxide are subjected to two-stage reaction in an aqueous medium containing alkali metallic ions present therein as follows. The reaction is carried out at 60-80 deg.C and the reaction temperature is then increased by >=5 deg.C. Thereby, the objective alkali metallic cis-epoxysucciniate is obtained.
