<p>A variable capacity single headed piston swash plate type refrigerant compressor provided with a double fulcrum hinge mechanism having a pair of hinges (K or M) for presenting a pivotal connection between a rotary support element (5, 35) of a drive shaft (4, 34) and a swash plate assembly (15, 37) causing a reciprocation of a plurality of single headed pistons (19, 38) in cylinder bores (1a, 31a) for compressing a refrigerant gas, the pair of hinges (K, M) of the double headed hinge mechanism cooperating to absorb reaction forces of the compression and suction of the refrigerant gas acting from the pistons (19, 38) on the swash plate assembly (15, 37) to thereby prevent an application of a local load to a sleeve element (13, 36) on which the swash plate assembly (15, 37) is turnably mounted.</p> |
