PURPOSE: To provide a method for preventing the side effect of colon nutrition via parenteral or fluid dietary route, and to provide a method for producing a medicinal agent for the prevention. CONSTITUTION: A relevant patient is administered parenterally with at least one kind of a 6-unsaturated essential fatty acid or its mixture with an enteral composition, esp. low-fat composition, or its combination with the composition. The above administration prevents complications liable to be developed in the patient dependent on fluid nutrition via parenteral route, such as enteric atrophy, biliousness, fat accumulation on the liver, abnormal activation of reticuloendothelial system (in particular, due to parenteral lipid), abnormal, level of lipoprotein and increase in protein catabolism. |
