<p>An improved process for sanitizing and if necessary for at least partially drying waste and/or valuable substances from recovered animal corpses, in particular in connection with the sterilization of valuable substances for the preparation of animal fodder, is characterized by subjecting the material to be sanitized to drying process conditions with superheated water vapour at least for a period sufficient to ensure the required sterilization. This process is suitable for eliminating pathogenic germ infestation and in particular for ensuring the quality of valuable substances or valuable substances-containing residues of animal origin, preferably at least partially dried. It can be used in combination with the recovery of animal fodder additives of vegetable origin by drying and if necessary by disintegration of the corresponding vegetable matter with superheated water vapour.</p> |
