The switch appts. uses at least two short-circuit closures (11, 12), each of which fulfils a double function and which are at least indirectly coupled together via a mechanical coupling. Pref. the switch appts. has a collector rail space (2), a switch space (3) and at least one cable termination space (4), for each switch cell (1). Each of the spaces (2, 3, 4) is partitioned from one another, one of the short-circuit closures (12) acting as an earthing device and contained in the cable termination space. ADVANTAGE - Full arc protection.
