The invention describes a strap assembly (1) with two opposite ends (11, 8) which can be joined together by means of a buckle (9). The strap assembly (10) has at least a covering layer (16) and a reinforcement layer (17). The reinforcement layer (16) ends before the frame (10) of the buckle (9) and has a constant thickness or a thickness which decreases in the direction of the frame (10)of the buckle (9).
