ATM SWITCH DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To attain efficient diagnosis of an ATM switch. CONSTITUTION:A test cell insert means 104 adds a virtual identifier such as VPI,VCI representing a test cell to a header part, plural test cells in which a test data is added to a pay load are sequentially generated and the test cell is multiplexed on a data of an input highway 102. Moreover, a test cell tag generating means 105 generates sequentially a tag corresponding to the switching operation at all cross points in, e.g. an ATM switch 101 and adds the tap to each test cell. A test cell insert means 104 adds, e.g. consecutive values to each octet of the pay load of the test cell as the test data and the ATM switch 101 is tested by allowing a test cell monitor means 106 to check whether or not the test data added to each octet of the pay load of the extracted test cell are consecutive values.
