The car window cable drive comprises respective drives, window connected driver dog and a cable pulley system, forming a closed loop with several sections (40,50,60,70) of different load-bearing capacity. Pref. the cable load is adapted to the partic. loop section such that a section (40) of max. load-bearing capacity reaches from a driver dog (1) to loop point (410) between topmost pulley (4) and drive (3). the point is free of bending load at top and bottom dog settings. The dogs (1,2) and/or drive have suspensions (11,21,31) engaged by couplings fitted to the cable section ends. ADVANTAGE - Low-cost design maintaining high load-bearing capacity and long service life.
