PURPOSE:To reduce multiplication frequency, addition frequency and inter- column data transfer frequency in row parallel type local parallel operation and to shorten a filtering processing time. CONSTITUTION:In this image processing system using a filter having vertically symmetrical weight based upon row parallel type local operation for executing parallel processing in each picture element by preparing processing elements corresponding to the same number of picture elements in a row of an image or less, each processing element multiples the picture element data of a column to be processed by respective weights of the center column of the filter, adds respective multiplied values, multiplies the picture element data of the column to be processed by respective weights of another column on one side through the center column of the filter, adds respective multiplied values, and receives arithmetic results stored in the processing elements of other columns by means of transfer to execute filtering processing. |
