<p>A movable forming plate (1) is equipped with a paper-applicator roller (9) comprising an internal suction system as well as an articulated mechanism (5, 6) supporting a strip (narrow bar) (20) likewise equipped with a suction system but also with a moistening device, the said articulated mechanism interacting with profiled stationary plates (4, 24) for giving the said strip (narrow bar) particular positions and orientations capable of ensuring the taking- up, the transfer and the application, by the roller, of a sheet of paper on an edge of the carton, in step with the displacement of the forming plate.
