PURPOSE:To prevent a rush current from flowing in the line which connects an ac supply and a forward converter at the time of start-up. CONSTITUTION:An ac supply 12 and a forward converter 20 are connected through an ac switch 16 and the output of the forward converter 20 is connected to a reverse converter 28 while it is connected to a battery 26 through a dc switch 24 and power from the reverse converter 28 is supplied to an ac load 14 based on the dc power from the forward converter 20 or battery 26. At the time of closing the ac switch 16, the dc switch is closed to use the forward converter 20 as a reverse converter and the forward converter 20 is operated according to signals from control signal generating devices 38, 44, 48 which generate a control signal for making a deviation between ac signals on both sides of the ac switch 16 zero and the ac switch 16 is not closed until the deviation between the ac signals on both sides of the ac switch 16 comes to nearly zero. |
