PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a thin-film slider from a pretreated wafer having plural electromagnetic devices arrayed on particularly one surface of a thin-film electromagnetic reading/writing head assembly. CONSTITUTION: The slider 10 is produced by coupling single-row bars as an integral part of a wafer 26 or in the state of not inducing curve in these bars to a mounting implement, then mechanically working the single row bars. The bars consisting of the double-rows sliced from the wafer 26 are used for production of the slider 10. The single-row bars in the case the respective single-row bars are held intact as the integral part of the double-row bars or after the bars are coupled to the mounting implement as the integral part of the double- row bars are subjected to machining and, thereafter, the coupled double-low bars are cut to two pieces of the single-row bars. |
