A piezoelectric element (20) is installed between a head base (15) of a video head (11) and a core (16) wounding a coil (17) to apply the current during the tape driving mode like stop, fast forward and rewind modes which is not necessary to contact the tape so that the head tip is retracted not to contact the tape directly.
