PURPOSE:To eliminate the waste of time and a defect in fixation by providing a correcting means which corrects specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:The device has a means which forms a visual image on' a recording material and a fixing means having a heating body 109 which is held at specific fixation temperature where the visual image on the recording material is heated and fixed. Image formation can be started or performed by the heating body 109 at the specific temperature lower than the fixation temperature. The correcting means which corrects the specific temperature is provided. A temperature detection member which detects the temperature of the heating body 109 is provided and the correcting means corrects the specific temperature according to the detected temperature of a temperature detection member at the startup after the heating body 109 begins to be fed with electricity. Therefore, even if there is a difference in the temperature rise characteristic of the heating body 109 of a fixing unit owing to an environmental change, a jam process, etc., the ready temperature is properly corrected, so the waste of time and defect in fixation are prevented. |
