PURPOSE:To prevent a header from being affected by the process of serial brazing works badly in the quality thereof by a method wherein a bracket is incorporated into the header temporarily empolying retaining pieces while assembled brazing is effected under the condition. CONSTITUTION:When a heat exchanger such as a condenser for car cooler and the like is manufactured, flat tubes 1 are arranged in parallel with a predetermined space in the direction of the thickness thereof at first, then, headers 3, 3 are fitted to both ends of the flat tubes and corrugate fins 2 are arranged to insert them between the tubes 1. Subsequently, the surrounding piece 7a of an upper mounting bracket 7 is arranged around the outer periphery of the upper end of the header 3, then respective both sides 15a, 15a of two pieces of U-shaped retaining pieces 15 are placed so as to override the side 7d of a projected piece 7b and are inserted into gaps between tubes 1 whereby the bracket 7 is incorporated into the headers 3 temporarily. Flux is blown against the incorporated body and the incorporated body is passed through a brazing furnace to efect assembled brazing whereby the whole of the incorporated body and the bracket are connected integrally. |
