PURPOSE:To provide the subject peptide having a structure coincident with a part of the antigen site of a protein coded in the non-structural region of a C type hepatitis virus gene, having reactivity with an antibody against the C type hepatitis virus and useful as an examination reagent for preventing the C type hepatitis caused by blood transfusion. CONSTITUTION:A protected peptide chain in the non-structural region of a C type hepatitis virus (HCV) is synthesized by a peptide synthesizer using the symmetric anhydride of a t-Boc amino acid (t-Boc is t-butyloxycarbonyl), dissolved in anisol/dimethyl sulfide/para-thiocresol solvent, subjected to a protecting group-removing reaction in the presence of hydrofluoric acid at a temperature of 0-5 deg.C, and subsequently separated and purified by chromatography to provide the objective peptide having a structure coincident with the antigen site of a protein coded in the non-structural region of a HCV gene represented by formulas I-VIII, having reactivity with an antibody against the HCV and containing at least six amino acids. |
