PURPOSE:To easily segment and possess an area in the same distance as an observed point in a real time by segmenting the image of a three-dimensional object at depth equal to the point observed from two right and left images by a camera. CONSTITUTION:The areas of small and large binocular parallax are calculated from the right and left images by computing elements 4 and 5, and the degree magnitude of the binocular parallax is calculated by a computing element 1. Then, only the area having binocular parallax close to zero is effectively segmented by executing repeated computation at computing elements 6 and 7 while using those results. Namely, a Gabor function is superimposed and integrated to two right and left images 1 and 2 caught by two right and left image pickup cameras and the obtained images are processed by adding and subtracting the two right and left images 1 and 2 obtained as the result. Therefore, only the area having zero parallax can be effectively segmented. |
