PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of the nozzle of a recording head due to the drying of ink or the penetration of dust generated when no recording is performed over a long period of time without using a mechanical means. CONSTITUTION:During a period performing no normal recording, for example, after a recording head is moved to the outside of the recording range of recording paper, ink is injected from all of nozzles a predetermined number of times at every predetermined cycle or the recording paper is fed and ink is intermittently injected by printing a time figure with an underline using the recording head so that the time figure is printed by the injection of ink from a predetermined one nozzle and the underline is printed by the injection of ink from the nozzles other than the predetermined one nozzle or all of the nozzles containing said nozzle. By this constitution, the clogging of the nozzles is prevented. |
