PURPOSE:To provide an autofocusing camera provided with a panoramic photographing function in which accurate AF is attained by deciding order of preferentially selecting a value out of plural range-finding values according to the time when a panoramic photographing mode is selected and the time when an ordinary photographing mode is selected. CONSTITUTION:When range-finding at plural points within a photographic image plane is performed by a focus detection circuit and the switching of the panoramic photographing mode and the ordinary photographing mode is performed, a control CPU selects the specified range-finding value in accordance with the photographing mode out of the plural range-finding values. In the panoramic photographing mode, the range-finding value showing the latest object is selected, and in the ordinary photographing mode, whether object magnification is equal to or above a specified value is decided. When it is equal to or above the specified value, the range-finding value including the object is appropriately selected in accordance with the photographing mode by selecting the range-finding value in a central range-finding area. |
