PURPOSE:To generate a free curve similar to the sequence of dots by inputting this sequence of dots by executing mapping transformation to the sequence of dots, approximating it to a third-order curve later and generating a curve segment expressed by a Blzier curve based on this third-order curve. CONSTITUTION:To inputted dot sequence vectors q1-qn, the mapping transformation is executed by using CAD/CAM(computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) method, for example. Afterwards, a third-order curve y=ax<3>+ bx<2>+cx+d similar to dot sequence vectors q1-qnm, to which the mapping transformation is executed, is generated based on coordinate data (x) and (y) of the dot sequence vectors q1-qnm to which the mapping transformation is executed and next, control point vectors Pa1 and Pa2 are set based on this third-order curve y=ax<3>+bx<2>+cx+d. Then, an inverse transformation processing is executed. Therefore, a free curve vector R(t) similar to the dot sequence vectors q1-qn can be formed.
