A vent valve has the moving closure 5 urged on to its seat 13 by a spring 15 and the fluidpressure in the inlet 2. The valve has an operating button 22 between which and the closure 5 is a spring 25 that is stronger than the other spring 15. The first part of the depression of the button 22 compresses the spring 25 and displaces a rod 11 slidable in the closure 5 so compressing the spring 15 and preventing it from acting on the closure 5; continued movement of the button physically unseats the closure 5 and connects the inlet 2 to a vent port 60, the spring 25 causing the closure 5 to move rapidly to the right until it abuts the stop 16 on the rod 11. |
