PURPOSE:To hold the main shaft of a roller in a state parallel to a cam groove by minimizing the occurrence of surface protuberance due to hardening in a cam in which hardening is applied to the surface of contact with a roller by the use of high energy beam, such as laser, and also increasing the surface of contact with the roller, to produce the cam while obviating the necessity of afterworking after hardening, to reduce the bearing of contact with the roller by increasing the contact surface, and also to prevent the acceleration of wear. CONSTITUTION:At the time of hardening the contact surface 3, to be in contact with a roller, of a cam groove 2 by using high energy beam, two or more hardened layers 33 parallel with each other are formed in the contact surface 3. |
