PURPOSE:To effectively perform the spelling verification of an optional input word through simple operation by regarding an effective character string of an optional word as a candidate of spelling verification when a candidate word for the optional input word is not retrieved. CONSTITUTION:When a candidate retrieval means 170a can not retrieve the candidate word for the inputted word, an effective character string retrieval means 170b automatically detects the effective character string for the input word and displays it on a display means 140, and a restarting means (word retrieval processing part 170) automatically starts a correct spelling word candidate retrieving process by a candidate retrieval means 170a according to a selection instruction for the detected effective character string. |
